Sound System:
The main components of the sound system that was in my Buick:
- Sony Mobile ES CDX-7850 CD player
- Sony XE-8mkII Electronic Equalizer/Analyzer
- Sony XA-107 Source Selector
- A pair of Infinity Kappa 462.1cf 4" x 6" plate speakers (3.5" midrange and 1" tweeter) in the dash
- Powered by a Sony XM-3020 30W x 2 amp
- A pair of Pioneer TS-6905 6" x 9" speakers in the rear deck
- Powered by a Sony XM-4520 45W x 2 amp
- A pair of JL 10" subwoofers in a sealed Q-Logic box in the trunk
- Powered by a Sony Mobile ES XM-3046 40W x 4 amp (bridged to 110W x 2)
- StreetWires RCA Cables
- 8 gauge power cable from battery to rear amps
- Rockford Fosgate power distribution blocks
When I transplanted the MP3 jukebox system into the truck, most of the stereo equipment came
along as well, but with some differences:
- Sony Mobile ES CDX-7850 CD player
- Sony XA-107 Source Selector
- A pair of 3.5" Pioneer 2-way speakers in the dash
- Powered by the Sony head unit
- A pair of JBL GTO 650 3-way 6.5" speakers in the rear
- Powered by a Sony Mobile ES XM-3046 40W x 4 amp
- The amp has two blown channels, so I can't use it to power the front speakers
- I'll be replacing both amps with a 5-channel Sony Mobile ES XM-1805GX for the entire system
- A single JL 10" subwoofers in a sealed Q-Logic box
- One of my subwoofers surrounds was ripped, but I only needed one for this application
- Powered by a Sony XM-4520 45W x 2 amp (bridged to 110W x 1)
- StreetWires RCA Cables
- 8 gauge power cable from battery to amps
