Remote Control:

I didn't want any wires or keypad visible in the car, so I chose to use infrared remote control to control the functions of the MP3 player while in use. I bought an Irman remote control infrared receiver from Evation.com, and used Ties Bos's Universal Infrared Receiver Plugin for Winamp to control the main functions of Winamp.

The Irman is a serial device that can be programmed to work with any "commercial IR" infrared remote control. I bought a credit-card sized Kenwood KCA-R40FM remote control and setup the Winamp plugin which let me customize each button on the remote.
